I have added this page on because images of angels are very popular but I have never done drawings angels before. I started as usual with the head, using the same technique as all my other head drawing techniques. I sketched in lightly with the charcoal pencil building a sold head construction for my features to be added on top of later.
Then after I felt comfortable with lay-in, or the understructure, i began placing the features and the accents, and continued to add more and more features, defining polishing the drawing until the finish. I added the wings last because it's easier to add them on later after the main form has been built. If you draw in the wings first then you might run into problems.
