The Art Students League of New Yorkwas founded in 1875. This art instruction school has been instrumental in shaping America's legacy in the fne arts. Many renowned artists, such as , Everette Raymond Kinstler, Norman Rockwell, Jackson Pollack, and Roy Lichtenstein among them, have honed their skills at the League, which is dedicated to sustaining the great tradition of training artists.
The League offers finest quality of art training for all levels. The costs are very affordable. There are approximately 80 artists teaching at the League, with more than 130 courses offered.

Florence Academy of Art is a school in Florence Italy teaching the atelier method. They utilize the sight size method. Many great contemporary realists are alumni of the Florence Academy of Art. This art instruction school provides highest level of education in figure drawing, painting, and sculpture in the realist tradition. They offer a year-long program dedicated to only drawing, then there are 3-year programs for painting and sculpture. Their teaching system is very organized and progressive step by step methods. The courses are taught in English. The student body is international. They accept limited number of students and usually there are long waiting lists, especially in the painting program.

Grand Central Academy of Art is a school dedicated to teaching pencil drawing and painting in the style of classical realism, or the atelier method. They do not use the sight size method, but a very effective method that achieves great accuracy in charcoal drawings and oil paintings. The school's instructors are the leading contemporary classical realists, Many of them have trained at the Water Street Atelier with the founder, Jacob Collins ." .The Grand Central Academy of Art was created by professional, exhibiting artists to offer classical training to serious students.
