Drawing Pencil Sketches

When I am drawing pencil sketches I try to be spontaneous and just be free and let go, without thinking about any technical things. I am just having fun, very much like singing in the shower.
This kind of approach always results in a very fresh and effortless appearing pencil drawing that I consider very valuable for myself not being able to pull off this kind of drawing consistently, as it happens only when I'm in a certain kind of mood or have a feel for it.

I used a charcoal pencil for this portrait sketch, without any blending, erasing or smudging and over-shading. I tried to just be spontaneous and let things happen without worrying about any mistakes. But my usual step by step technical method can be seen as it became a habit.
