Drawing Supplies

I recommend the following drawing supplies:

charcoal pencil Charcoal Pencils: Some recommended brands are, General's, Derwent, Pitt, and Prismacolor.

charcoal stick Charcoal Sticks: Alphacolor, Char-Kole

strathmore charcoal drawing Drawing Paper: Strathmore 500 series, charcoal paper

eraser charcoal drawings Erasers: kneaded eraser

exacto exacto

sandpaper for charcoal drawings sandpaper

These are some supplies that I use and recommend. Some of the great artists likes to draw with any kind of papers and tools they can get their hands on. Many of the great drawings I have seen were done on newsprint, with ball-point pen, writing pencils, etc. but I definitely use an acid-free paper when I want my work to last without discoloring.

Here are some good art supply stores. Pearlpaint drawing supplies, Dick Blick, and Jerry's Artarama. For drawing pencils, try visiting www.drawingpencils.net
