Here is a video demo on how to draw a horse. Horses are very eatiful subjects to draw, having great long curves and smooth textures. Drawing animals are quite similar to human figure drawings. The anatomy is qute similar even those the shapes are different. All have the major masses same as the humans'. The skull mass ,the rib cage mass , the pelvic mass.
I went a little faster than usual. I just sketched the lay-in very fast and went on to adding dark features even before establishing a solid lay-in. I drew a lot with the side of the pencil to achieve broad strokes to quickly establish the shapes and the values at the same time.
Later on i used the stomp to blend the charcoal to work on smooth texture and render and polish the surface.
